Winged Isis The Winged Goddess Isis is shown with outstretched wings and the hieroglyphic symbol (in the shape of an 'L') for her name on her head as a crown. She was the wife of the god of the underworld, Osiris, and the mother of the falcon god, Horus. She was the goddess of magic, medicine, and wisdom. She represented the Queen and taught everyday people skills, especially medicine and agriculture.
The Egyptian Papyrus is made by slicing thin strips of River Nile reeds and laying them criss-cross. They are then soaked in water and dried under weight. The result makes a very durable paper, which has been used since ancient times.
